Do I need a metal primer under enamel?
Metal generally needs an appropriate primer, and which one depends on the metal, its condition and the enamel system. The manufacturer states the system for the product.
Why is my enamel on a gate peeling?
The common causes are coating over rust or loose material, inadequate preparation, or a primer and topcoat that are not part of the same system. Photographs of the failing area help identify which.
